Network Related Settings:

There are two settings that need to be made on the remote machine in order to set it up for diagnostics via the network. The first of these settings is to turn on Program Linking in the “Sharing Setup” Control Panel. This is needed in order for Alert! to connect with the Network Responder on that machine.  

Note: You do not need to turn on File Sharing in order to use Alert! to diagnose the machine.  Unless File Sharing is needed for some other purpose on that machine, leave it off.
